Savior, who is Christ the Lord
These titles have tremendous significance:
Savior shows Jesus came to save sinners,
Christ shows His position as the promised Messiah, and
Lord shows His power as God in the flesh.
SAVIOR SHOWS JESUS CAME TO SAVE SINNERS, CHRIST SHOWS HIS POSITION AS THE PROMISED MESSIAH,
AND LORD SHOWS HIS POWER AS GOD IN THE FLESH.
Luke 2:11
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
a.Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful , Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
b. Luke 2:4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,
c. Matthew 1:21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
John 4:42 They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.”
d. Acts 2:36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
Acts 10:36 As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all),
Luke 23:2 And they began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding us to give tribute to Caesar, and saying that he himself is Christ, ga king.”
Matthew 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David were fourteen generations, and from David to the deportation to Babylon fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon to the Christ fourteen generations.
e. Luke 1:43 And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
